Day 79 - Low supply

Today's Tip - Ask your doctor about Reglan if your breastmilk supply can't keep up

If you don't seem to be producing enough milk, ask your doctor if Reglan is a good option for you. It's usually used to treat nausea, but it also promotes the flow of breastmilk. It's seemed to help my wife keep up with our giant baby's appetite.

Rather than using the drug Reglan (Metoclopramide hydrochloride), which has been tied to some serious side effects (including depression), I'd first want to talk to your lactation consultant about a product called "More Milk Plus", which is a combination of the herbs fenugreek, blessed thistle, nettle leaf, and fennel seed. Much safer for you and for baby, too.

Also, I notice that you say "ask your doctor" -- if you're having lactation issues, a certified Lactation Consultant (IBLCE) can probably help more than an OB.
