- Use a diaper cream like Boudreauxs Butt Paste
- Change their diaper every hour, and once in the middle of the night. This will keep them from staying damp for a long period of time

My son who always had no problems got the worst diaper rash when he was teething a few weeks ago. With the suggestion of my pediatrician, we first put on neosporin with a numbing agent, then balmax on top. We'd sit him on the floor of his nursery for about 10 minutes before putting his diaper on before putting on his diaper. He did go to the bathroom on the floor a bunch, but we did our best to put him on a lap pad whenever we had clean ones. It took about 10 days to fully heal, but this did work!
